Rolling Loud was interesting this year. As a two time attendee, it was worth it yet again, but Miami-Dade County Police ruined what could have been an even better experience by arresting Kodak and the reasoning for Lil’ Wayne not performing. Completely unrelated, let’s just throw in NBA Youngboy being shot at during the weekend. At some point, there was a massive crowd scare stemming near one of the water stations and hysteria followed. Otherwise, Miami was its typical self: beautiful, clear skies (mostly), and festive. Previous post mentioned our most anticipated artists and I honestly wanted to catch footage for all of them, but life happens. Between lateness and intoxication, it was difficult. I’m a man of my word so we did snag a few POV clips though.
Best sets this year have to go to Cardi B and Lil’ Baby in my opinion. We all know they’re major, but the sets just were hitting harder than a lot of other people. I am a bit biased due to seeing Waka, Playboi Carti, Gunna, and others in separate venues prior as well. As an early 90s kid from New Orleans, it was tight to see DMX live cause it was probably the only time I would ever be able to and his shit used to be an anthem in the city. Biggest moments were Lil’ Nas X bringing out Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil’ Uzi Vert announcing his latest work, Eternal Atake. I personally wanted more from Uzi, but the experience was what you’d expect from one of his shows. The clutchest purchase we made before entering was a 2 for $5 handheld fan. The women loved them so why not plus the heat out there was crazy. Finally, Kid Cudi is a genius; what else do I need to say about bro. If you’ve never attended anything like this, only things to really worry about are water and eating between sets if you’re engaging in vices. Dehydration is a demon, facts.
