I was looking for music to listen to while I drive, and Larry June has answered my call to the t. He’s become the modern day Dom Kennedy in my opinion and is also close with Curren$y; even releasing about 5 songs together across multiple projects. Get in your car and go sliding through the city listening to literally anything he’s put out since 2016—you wont be disappointed. As expected, he divvied a bit at first before coming into his own and establishing a lane through 13 albums (Apple Music). Before long, the emergence of a perfect blend of jazz/rnb, smooth instrumentals, and Organic subject matter took form and it’s awesome to witness.
Larry June had a show in NOLA recently worth the trip, but I didn’t make it unfortunately. Oblivious to the wave at the time; however, soon after it took a few listens to “Out the Trunk” (2019) to comprehend my wrongdoings. The album comes highly recommended as the first impression to what Larry June is doing with his music while remaining Healthy.
When I saw him on the album covers of “Mr. Midnight” (2019) and “Very Peaceful” (2018) in the grey-silver 1987 Corvette C4 coupe, this article wrote itself in my head. Then, he pulls off in a ASCMcLaren in the video for Recaro Seats leaving me like who really is this guy honestly? CardoGotWings and K. Fisha have been responsible for a lot of hits so tune in to them. As of now Larry June, you’re doing great.
